Namika was standing near the river bank with her eyes closed and her face upturned, her long black hair plasterd to her face shone in the moonlight as the rain poured down and mixed with the tears she had finaly gotten to come. Her village had been destroyed by a massive fire. Her family, her friends, and even her lover Shinji Iniku had been killed and all she could do for the past week was stare at the ruins where her home used to be. She had no where to go, no where to turn. She could feel The tears running down her cheeks but she made no attemot to stop them. She welcomed the pain, as it was the only thing keeping her sane, letting her know she was still human, still alive. She sat down under the protection of a nearby tree and leaned against the trunk, no longer wishing to be consumed by the rain but still she let her tears come. She wept for as long as she can remember before she finaly drifted to sleep.

She was walking along the river bank, behind the ruined village. She had lived there her whole life. And she hated it. She smiled lightly as she remeberd the screams of all the people as she lit the fire. She loved finnaly being rid of them. They were all weak and useless. All they did was crtisize her. Judge her. Hateh er. Tease her. For what she was. She was not human, for she was the most powerful, most evil demon. She was kept in a cage, chained up. Muzzled. Kept isolated, for the fear she would kill someone. She was always kept in the dark. She was only feed once a week. She growled lightly at the momery. "Now im rid of thoise basterds." She said quietly. Then something on the bank cought her eye. She looked over to see a girl with black hair, leaning against a tree with her eyes closed. Miuki guessed the girl was asleep as she did not look up as Miuki got closer. She lifted the girls chin up lightly looking at the girls face. Miuki remebers seeing the girl a few times, as she visited the jail holding often. Miuki always wondered why this girl would visit the jail so often. Miuki shruged it off. She rememberd hearing the girls name before. She thought hard "Nimika I think it was" Miuki then let the girls head fall back, and she stood up. She is no use to me, although I wonder how she exscaped the fire...I made sure everyone died......" Miuki then piced up the girl, and carried her to the place Miuki was staying, and layed her down next to a fire, and waited for her to wake up.

Namika rememberd feeling somthing in her sleep, somthing she couldnt quite place. Almost like nudges. But she was so tired, so dead tired, she could not force her eyes open. She didnt want to either. She hopped whatever the nudges were would kill her. She didnt have any place to go, no one to talk to, no one outside her town knew her she had no money, and what was thepoint of living if she didnt have Shinji? Namika slowly opend her eyes to see she was still alive. When she realized this she felt she might cry. But she wouldnt. She saw she was beside a fire. She knew that before she opend her eyes. It was warm. She felt her stomache growl, she heard it as well. She ignored it. She looked around the unfamiliar place wondering how she had gotten here and where exactly here was.

She walks into the room and looks at the girl now awake. She smiled lightly "Morning. You sleep well?" She asked. She then sat down by the girl, and handded her a small bowl of food, and a cup of water "So, how exactly did you excape the fire?" She asked

Namika nothing for a moment, staring intently at the woman before her. She opend her mouth to speak but when she tried she found her throat was so dry it hurt. She took the water and gulped it down. "y-y-your t-that girl that I visited!" She said shocked. "How did YOU escape the fire? I thought everyone was dead! maybe.....Shinji....." She trailed off thinking, hoping that maybe, somewhere, Shinji could be out there, still alive. Namika's stomache rummbled and she took the food and ate greedily, like it was the best thing she had ever tasted. "What is this? Its great. How did I escape the fire? I dunno. I just trusted my instincs. I cant remember much about how. I just knew that i couldnt die yet." She answered.

She smiles lightly "Im glad you like it, and yes, I am that girl. My name is Miuki Kosuki. And im guessing your name is Namika, right?" She then handed the girl more food, and smiled lightly. And before the fire started, they released me for a while. I ran out of the village before the fire could get me. And this Shinji, I heard you talking about him in your sleep. Not trying to be rude or anything, but who was he?"

"Oh. It's alright. Your not being rude. Anyone would be curious." Namika ate slowly, her apatite fading. "Shinji...." She sighed his name. She paused for a moment before continueing. "Shinji and I, we were together. We were childhood friends, yet even then we knew we were destined to be together." She smiled at her memory, then continued. "We had plans to marry. We were inseperable. My mother never approved, but i didnt care. She never knew the love I felt for him. He gave me his heart and I gave him mine. We wanted to be together forever." A tear slid down Namika's cheek, but she mad no effort to hide it from Miuki. She was not afraid to cry. "I apologize. You probably dont want to hear my whole life story," She chuckled. "So i'll stop by saying he was my everything." Namika smiled with how right the words felt in her mouth. "I also want to add that I never aproved of what they were doing to you. I tried so desperatly to get them to let you go. But unfortunatly no one listens to the wisdom of a 14 year old girl."

She chuckled lightly "Well considering in a 19 year old killer demon. Its not surpizeing. Many fear me. And those who knew me as a child, still have nightmares about me" She then layed back putting her hands behind her head, and crosseing her left leg over her right. She thought about what the girl had said for a few second. She remeberd someone from her past...Who she had the exact same feelings, if not stronger for. A singel tear slid down her chees as she remebered the day, that she was put in the cadge....The day she killed the one she loved, and her family. She spoke softly "I was about your age, if not younger when they put me in that cage. The reason....I killed alot of people...Just for the fun of it.....One person I was forced to kill....When I promised him I wouldent....." She shook her head lightly shakeing the momory of his screams "The chained me up, put me in the cage, then left me for death. Someone ordered them to keep me alive though. Why? I dont know. Im better off for death, even though I wont go down easly." She then yawned lightly "If I remeber correctly, i think I saw a boy about your age, run into the woods just as I got out of the village. Had black hair. But thats all I saw"

Namika was pretty shaken up from the fire. A board had fallen on her leg which was a big disadvantage, because now she had to limp until she was better, but when she heard that a boy with black haired had escaped she thought that it could be Shinji. She jumped up loosing her balance because of her leg and fell to the ground. "Agh!" She said as she hit the ground. She struggled to get back up holding on to anything that could help her. She had been carless with her injured leg and now she would have to wait longer for it to heal but she didnt care. Shinji could be out there now waiting for her. She set a determined look on her face. "Shinji." she thought. "I'll find you." Then outloud she said, "I have to find him. He is my only reason for living." She could feel warm blood running down her head and leg from other injuries she had gotten escaping the fire, but she didnt care. Life wasnt worth living without Shinji. She had to get out there and find him. Now that she knew he was alive.

She sighed lightly an dtook a deep breath of air, and bent don to help her up, then sat her down on the bed, then held her hand on the girls leg. Her hand started to glow a light blue as she healed the girls leg. She then started to treat the other wounds. She still held her breath, not wanting to atack the girl. After she finished, she walked outside and breathed again. She shied and looked at the sky, lost in thought, then whisperd "Justin.....Im sorry brother" then a singel tear slid down her face

Namika stared at her leg in amazment. "How......how did she do that....?" She wonderd. She walked outside still faintly feeling the pain she had just experienced. Namika walked over to Miuki. "Miuki......im scared." She admited. "I...I dont have full faith that.......That it's Shinji you saw." She said as she began to cry. "I dont....I dont know...What i'll do...if it isnt him." Namika said struggling to get the words out through her sobs. "And.....I want.....I want to know. I want to know if it's him but.......b-but I dont want to leave you. You seem so sad. So sad and I....I feel like I can help. And your the only one....The only one I have left. The only one I know. If it isnt Shinji. i'll die. I dont want to die anymore! I know....I know he's out there. If this boy isnt him. If it isnt him, I know i'll find him. But first, I want to help you, and...." Then she broke down crying. She cried for Miuki's sadness, She cried for her own. She cried for Shinji, and everyone she had lost. She felt so scared and alone. Alone except for this woman she didnt even know. She didnt know why, but she felt like she could trust Miuki. She felt it, and she wanted to beleive her feelings were true.

She looked down at the sobbing girl. She bent down so she was eye level with her "Im fine Namika." She smiled lightly, but deep inside she knew Namika was right. Her heart was full of sorrow, and guilt for the people she had killed, and she now felt bad, for the people she took away from this little girl. She put her hand on Namika's sholder "Please dont cry. Dont worry, I'll help you find Shinji, ok?" Then she stood up stright "But for now, we will heal you, and train you so you can get your strength back. alright?"

Namika eventualy quieted her sobs enough to reply with what she hopped was a smile. "Okay. Thank you." She said. Then she hugged Miuki. Knowing in her heart that Miuki wouldnt kill her. "I will need to be as strong as I can if I hope to find Shinji." She murmered sleepily, her energy not fully restored, was finaly wearing down.

Miuki smiled lightly, and hugged the girl back, and picked her uip, and carried her back into the house, and layed her down on her bed and watched her fall asleep

Namika dremt she was in the forest. She was running, and running. She didnt slow down. She looked behind her. Someone was chasing her. Some one FAST. She didnt know if she could escape. Just then she tripped over a tree branch and lost her balance. She fell to the ground with a thud and cried out in pain. She heard the thing closing in. It got closer and closer. Namika tried to crawl away but she knew it was too late. She turned to face her attacker.................and woke in bed with sweat running down her face. She sighed and realized it was just another dream. She looked out the window nearest her and saw it was still dark. She closed her eyes wishing for a better sleep to come and claim her. Eventualy she fell asleep again.

She was laying on the floor, listening to Namike pant in her sleep. She knew she was haveing a bad dream. She didnt mind, for she never really slept, and when she did, it was when she was knocked unconsious. She closed her eyes, and let the memorys flood her mind. She let the screams fill her ears, the images fill her fision, and the blood cover her skin.

Namika had a more peaceful sleep. All the while she dremt of Shinji. She was aware of smiling in her sleep, and she felt a single tear slide down her cheek. She had the feeling it wouldnt be the only one.

Suddenly, a blood curdling scream was heard. Soon she realized it was her own. She couldent stop it. The images filling her visons...The feeling of the blood. She kept screaminog holding her head. She soon felt her teeth sharpen, and her finger nails grow out and sharpen as well. Her eyes turned pitch black. She looked around for the chain she used to tie her self down. She coudent find it. TYears started to run down her face, and she screamed again. She held her head tightly and stood up. She threw her head back, and screamed again her hands turning into claws, her nails razor sharp, as well as her teeth

Namika sat up in bed with a dazed look in her eyes. Not shcoked or surprised, but like she was staring into space. She slowly stood up and walked toward Miuki reaching her hand out to her. Namika gently touched Miukis forehead and a faint white glow iluminated the room. It seemed to be coming from Namika's fingers. Namika still looked as though she were in a trance. She held her ingertips against Miukis forehead and Miukis started to calm down. Her claws turned back into her hands, and her teeth began to take their normal shape.

Her teeth slowly went back to noraml, and so did her hands. Her vision cleared, but her eyes stayed black. She stoped screaming, and she soon colapsed on to the floor. She then fell unconsious

Namika suddenly snaped out of her trance. "OH crap! Are you okay?!?! Miuki!" She screamed and helped Miuki get on the bed. She then took care of her praying she would wake up.

Still unconsious, her dreams haunted her. All she could hear was screaming. All she felt was blood on her skin. All she saw, was people falling to the ground dead. She turned around to see Justin standing behind her, his eyes wide with fear, and tears running down his face. She didnt want to hurt him.....She wouldent....She couldent. She screamed and held her head, just adding to the alredy hundreds of screams and cried for help. She looked at him, her eyes completly black, and tears of blood running down her face. She then suddenly thought 'I can hurt him....I can kill him'. She had just lost her last bit of reason. Her last bit of sanity. She looked at Justin, and she apperd behind him. She held a blade to his neck. As he started to scream, she pulled the blade scross his neck, killing him. He fell to the ground, bleeding to death from the neck. He slowly closed his eyes, dead. Just then, she had realized what she just done. She killed her brother. The most important person in her life....Now hes dead becouse of her. She screamed and held her head, blood tears running down her face. Just then everything went dark, and she sat up screaming. She looked around the room, and looked at Namika

Namika had slipped back into her trance, but this time she touched Miukis cheek. A blue glow illuminated the room and Miuki's mind filled with thoughts of peace. Namika was giving Miuki the gift of peace of mind. Namika kept her finger tips pressed to Miuki's cheek, the blue glow still there illuminating the room. She showed her images of birds singing in the trees, of the waterfall not to far from here, anything peacefull. Miuki heard the soothing sounds of the ocean, heard the birds, heard the trees rustling in the slight breeze. Namika smiled still in her trance. She was giving Miuki her memories. Memories of the peacful times she had once had.

She closed her eyes, thankfull for the new images. she put her hand over Namikas, holding her hand there afrid that if she moved her hand, the images would go away. She sat there wuetly, feeling the cool brezz on her skin. And listening to the birds singing

Namika kept smiling, reliving the memories somehow knowing that they were part of the reason she had survived the fire. She kept remembering new things, each more soothing than the last and she never once took her hand away from miuki's cheek. She knew this was how she would help her. She would help Miuki in any way that she could. She owed it to her. After all, Miuki was the one whod saved her. Now it was her turn to save Miuki.
